Combat Not Conform (Trashkrant #10)

The work of Folkert ‘Fokkie’ Walraven (‘Strong Concentration Of Anger’ – ‘S.C.A.’ – vocalist) from Amsterdam. There’s already a post on this zine but more material has become available…

Folkert sent me the first 2 issues (which were free) and you can read his story in the previous post.

#3, dubbed the “renovated” (because there was help from ‘outside’; e.g. from Gerry Berthauer – ‘S.C.A.’ drummer) Trashkrant saw the light in January ’85. The major part was a report on the ‘Negazione’/’Declino’/’NogWatt’ show at the (Queen) Emma squat. There was also the interview with ‘Frites Modern’ and various odd bits. This issue is part of the Punk Etc collection). So is #10 (1986; labeled “international zine”; in English). That starts off with a letter-section, followed by interviews with ‘Nuclear’ (Ger) & ‘Combat Not Conform’; presentations of ‘H.H.H.’, ‘Wretched’, ‘Stanx’ & ‘A.C.T.H.’ (Ita); and reports from Euskadi, Yugoslavia & Germany.

Can’t recall where I got issues 5-7-8… #5 is with ‘Disgust’, ‘EU’s Arse’, ‘Resistance’ (including Gwynn ten Boske, later in ‘Loud Warning’ & ‘N.R.A.’), the Amersfoort & Wormer scenes, reviews and more. #7 has a bunch of scenereports (Belgium, Finland, Greece), an interview with ‘Gepøpel’, etc. #8 was free and consisted of 4 pages squatting/activist news…

Issues n° 9-10-11 are available on Michael K’s website. #9 (Feb ’86) features ‘Down Syndrome’ (Can), ‘C.O.C.’, ‘J.F.A.’, a report by Dolf Trust & tour-stories by Jos on ‘Lärm’ in Spain. In #11 (’87) there’s interviews with ‘Winterswyx Chaos Front’ & ‘False Liberty’, ‘Heimat-los’ & ‘Agnostic Front’ presentations, a Belgian scenereport (by Onno H.), reviews, etc.

‘C.N.C.’ was a skatecore band form Kreuzberg, Berlin. At the time of this interview: Yvonne Ducksworth (vocals; ex ‘Manson Youth’; later ‘Jingo De Lunch’), Ilja Schellschmidt (guitar; ex ‘No Allegiance’), Achim (not ‘Achmed’) (bass – replacing ‘Matze’ Matthias Mackowiak) & ‘T’schiffka’ (drums; ‘Manson Youth’ singer after Yvonne left – replacing ‘General’ a.k.a. ‘der Franz’ Rodeck).
